Fulton Homes a National Leader in Indoor airPLUS

iap_leader_banner2Fulton Homes has a sincere commitment to building homes that are safe for its customers, and indoor air quality is an important part of that goal. That’s why Fulton Homes is proud to announce that it has received the Indoor airPLUS Leader Award for its dedication to offering safer and healthier homes through participating in the EPA’s Indoor airPLUS Program.

Fulton Homes is the only homebuilder in the U.S. to win both the Indoor airPLUS Leader award and Energy Star’s Partner of the Year award over the past two years. Homes was recognized for the second year in a row as an Indoor airPLUS Leader for their strong commitment to building homes with improved indoor air quality.

The Indoor airPLUS program improves the quality of indoor air in new homes by requiring construction practices and product specifications that minimize exposure to airborne pollutants and contaminants. The EPA created Indoor airPLUS to help builders meet the growing consumer preference for homes with improved indoor air quality. Construction specifications include the selection and installation of:

  • moisture control systems
  • heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems
  • combustion-venting systems
  • radon resistant construction

“Receiving the EPA’s Indoor airPLUS award for the second year in a row proves that Fulton Homes remains steadfast in building the most energy-efficient homes for our customers,” said Fulton Homes CEO Doug Fulton. “It is acknowledgments like this that uniquely set us apart from other homebuilders not just here in Arizona, but across the U.S. as well.”

Fulton Homes is committed to building 100% of their homes to Indoor airPLUS. Fulton Homes is one of only a handful of homebuilders around the country to be recognized as an Indoor airPLUS leader, and to be recognized two years in a row highlights the depth of their commitment. At Fulton Homes, we’re proud of this commitment to building homes that are safe for our customers and their families.

Proud of our History

ira_fulton_bannerAs Arizona’s largest family-owned and operated homebuilder, it would seem that Ira Fulton was always destined to build homes. Actually he ended up in the homebuilding business by accident!

Ira Fulton has always been a success at whatever he tackled. At age 11, he started a paper route. It grew into a profitable venture that put him through Arizona State College, where he met his wife Mary Lou.

In the 1950’s he held various marketing positions and then launched his first entrepreneurial venture, a computer leasing company that automated several retailing leaders. This experience led him to buy his first retail establishments, two Eagleson’s Big and Tall Stores that expanded into a 35-store chain.

He then bought the Aston Construction company from his nephews, intending to phase it out. The company began to grow, so Mr. Fulton stuck with it. Under his guidance, Fulton Homes has grown from a small construction company to one of the largest, most profitable private homebuilders in the country.

There’s a reason for Ira Fulton’s success. He says, “Give people the best value, customer service and product within the industry, and you will always be the best.” All his business accomplishments aside, he finds the most gratification in “developing people,” not homes.

Fulton Homes donates over 60% of its profits every year to many worthwhile causes around the country. Some of the benefiting recipients of these investment dollars include Arizona State University, Brigham Young University, University of Utah, Huntsman Cancer Institute, as well as numerous local organizations in and around the Phoenix area.

Mr Fulton said, “When you look at history, you realize we are here for just a second, a twinkle of time and you learn we can do things to make the world a better place.”

Fulton Home’s Noon Salute

noonsaluteThe team at Fulton Homes is proud to build homes here in the United States.

In honor of our nation and those who serve it, Fulton Homes and 94.5 KOOL FM offer an opportunity for Valley high school bands to represent their schools by demonstrating their skills and their patriotism on the air. The Fulton Homes Noon Salute on 94.5 KOOL FM gives local high school bands a chance to play the national anthem on the radio.

Every day at noon, 94.5 KOOL FM pays tribute to our country and our troops by playing of “The Star Spangled Banner” for its listeners. School bands can audition by sending a recording of their version of “The Star Spangled Banner” on a CD to the radio station. Individuals from Fulton Homes and 94.5 KOOL FM will listen to each CD and pick the best performances. Three schools will be featured every month, with the top submission for the month awarded a $1,000 donation to their music department from Fulton Homes. That school’s version will re-air on 94.5 KOOL FM.

The Fulton Homes Noon Salute recognizes high school musicians and their hard work and dedication to their musical studies, as well as the teachers who develop their talents.
